Church Membership Covenant

By the sovereign grace of God, I have repented and believed in the Gospel of Jesus Christ, submitting my life to Him as Lord and Saviour. I have been baptized upon profession of my faith, in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, in obedience to the biblical command, an ordinance symbolizing my union to Jesus Christ. Date of Baptism:
I commit myself to the regular careful study of God’s true Word (the Bible) in private and in Church gatherings, that with the Holy Spirit’s help, I may know Him better, bear fruit to His glory, and not sin against Him. I have read and agreed with the entirety of the Church’s Statement of Faith. I agree to be held wholly accountable to this sound doctrine. I understand that the full statement of our Church’s teaching positions is adapted from the 1689 London Baptist Confession. As I wait for Christ’s return, I commit myself to regular prayer, in keeping with the example of Jesus Christ and His teaching to His disciples in the Lord’s Prayer.

As Christ has loved and commanded me, I strive to love my brothers and sisters in the Church that the world may know we are truly His disciples. I commit myself to the Church’s commission to make disciples of all nations, teaching them all that Christ has commanded us. To this end, I will not forsake the weekly Sabbath worship gathering and Christian fellowship. Recognizing God has arranged each member of this body as He chose, as far as it depends on me, I commit to live at peace with everyone, maintaining the unity of the local Church, and working heartily and faithfully to serve the Lord. To this end I commit to cheerfully and regularly give to the support of the local Church’s ministry, the relief of the poor, and the spread of the Gospel through missional work abroad. Recognizing their God-appointed authority to shepherd His flock as those who must give an account, I submit to the leadership, oversight, and discipline of the biblically qualified Pastors/Elders of the Church. Further, I commit to regularly examining myself prior to partaking of the Lord’s Supper so that the Church may walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, set apart from worldly sin.

If at any time, I am unable, in good conscience, to sincerely affirm this covenant, I commit to inform the Elders so that the membership of the Church can rightly protect and uphold the honour of the Name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ in this world. Til He returns or calls us home.
